SHOP MY STASH #1: THE RESULT

Wednesday 23 April 2014
For those of you who don't know; "Shop My Stash" is pretty much having a perusal among the make-up aisles of my bedroom, and rediscovering little goodies and throwing out old gems that are past their best. A glorified clean up and sort through, only lots more fun! So here is the aftermath, and overview of my first stash-shopping adventure!
The things I loved...

Sleek i-Divine Palette in Snapshots.
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to use every shade in this palette, but what I have used has reaffirmed my love for Sleek's eye shadow palettes! I won't feature this palette in my next Shop My Stash but I certainly won't be putting it down any time soon!

Collection Shimmer Shades in Way To Glow
This has worked a treat for highlighting my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose and I've really enjoyed using it. I found the darkest shade too shimmery and glittery for my tastes, but the shade which is more of a muted peachy-brown turned out better than I had anticipated!

Look Beauty Eye Shadow in Disco
I love this purple eye shadow. I'm really into retro eye looks at the moment and this looks fab swept across the lid, on top of an equally shimmery and metallic base. A real winner for me!

Rimmel Lasting Kisses Lip Liner in Indian Pink (not pictured)
Because I'm a terrible blogger I forgot to include a photo of this one, but it's just a basic, hot pink lip liner. I love to line and fill my lips in with this then top with a lip stain such as Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick.

The things I didn't love...

MUA Eye Shadow Primer.
Just nah son. This sucks so badly because it's so hit and miss. Sometimes it worked great, sometimes not so great. So in the end I bit the bullet and forked out for the Too Faced Shadow Insurance because I needed something that would work every time.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation.
I did a whole post on how and why this foundation just doesn't work for me, which you can view here. The Sparknotes version is that I just can't get this to stay on my face, at all. After a few hours it just vanishes, and during an 8-hour day that it not cool at all.

I still can't believe how much fun I've had rediscovering my old, neglected products! Have you ever shopped your stash? If you haven't I seriously recommend it, especially if you've enjoyed reading this post. Stay tuned for the next instalment of Shop My Stash.
