Christmas Fayres are Spectacular.

Friday 30 November 2012
Woah! Janelle, where the hell have you been all week?!
Well guys & dolls, my laptop broke, catastrophically.
I wish I had taken a picture :/
Though never mind, all is well!
ON WITH THE SHOW!

Sooo, I went to the amazing Victorian Christmas Fayre in Worcester on Thursday and had such a good time!

I got: a gingerbread chai tea from the Bluebird Co. tea stand.
A toffee apple.
Fuffle from Gaz @ Fudgeheaven. (It's his email address, lawls), on the fuffle stand. (Fuffle is a delightful, light, sweet mix of fudge and truffle. It's divine).
Fudge from one of the 4 fudge stands.
'Authentic' (because who knows if it is or not?) German mulled wine.
Aaaaand, I think that's it.
But don't let my meagre list of goodies phase you, the market is massive. It takes up the majority of the town centre. There's cheese stalls (omg, it's damn good cheese as well), handmade jewellery, handmade candles, sweets and confectionery, roasted chestnuts vendors, hot chocolate vendors, people selling mini pancakes and crepes and churros with a variety of toppings. That's just off the top of my head. There's a guy that sells handmade lip balms and soaps and stuff, there's blokes selling massive German Bratwurst hotdog sausage things. There's so much to go and see; there were guys on stilts, a chimney sweep on stilts, a guy on a penny farthing with a cracking top hat and moustache. Nearly all of the traders are in Victorian fancy dress. Seriously go and check it out!
Clearly from the picture, it's only a 4 day event, so get your skates on! Honestly, it's amazing.
My favourite part is the stunning Friar Street, it reminds me of Diagon Alley so much.
And with the Christmas-y atmosphere, it's spellbinding. As true as it is cliché and a bad pun, ha.

This post is appalling; it's rushed and all over the place but I really wanted to broadcast how amazing it is! Hopefully someone'll see this post and decide to have a gander.
Let me know if you do go and have a look.
Ooo! Has anyone been to the Birmingham German market yet? Tell me all about your festive shenanigans! :D

Review-Day Tuesday #2: Starlytes Candle

Hey guys & dolls.
In my last haul post I discussed a delicious candle that I bought and as it's Review Day, I thought I'd tell you all a little bit more about it!

As detailed in the picture above, the brand is called 'Starlytes' and the scent I got is 'Vanilla Créme'. I know I mentioned this in my haul, but I don't think you understand. It smells just like the Vanilla Cupcake Yankee Candle, but not quite as strong. I'm not even kidding. It's delicious.
I burnt mine for an hour or so the other day and my whole room smelt like the candle; sweet, creamy deliciousness. My room's not huge, but it's not a box room either. I've been thoroughly impressed with this product, I can't believe it only cost me 99p!
I got mine from a shop called Discount UK and if you visit the website, you can see if there's a store near you. If there is, go and look for this candle! It's totally worth it.
If you do manage to get your hands on one, let me know what you think of it!
Thanks for reading :)

Song of the Week Saturday #1

Saturday 17 November 2012
Hey guys & dolls! Yes, another weekly trend!
The Song of the Week this Saturday is: Wings by Little Mix
It was this song that started it all for me. It helped me realise that it's okay to be different, it's okay to be individual, and no one else's opinion is relevant at all. To quote RuPaul: "what other people think of me is none of my business." So spread those wings, butterflies, and fly.

What song has been your inspiration this week? Let me know in the comments section below!

Excuse me whilst I FREAK OUT because Jenny aka MissJenFABULOUS replied to me on twitter!!!

Review-Day Tuesday #1: Nivea Lip Butter

As the title suggests, Tuesdays will be review days!
I dunno, I'm just in love with the idea of doing weekly posts with outrageously awful titles ;)

As far as I know, these Lip Butters have been going around the beauty circle for a little while now, so naturally I had to see what all the fuss is about. I've already reviewed this product over on my Tumblog, which you can find by clicking here, but I figured I might as review it over here too!

As stated in my other obscenely long review, this stuff is the bees knees. It does exactly what a good lip balm should do in one application.

Cheap and cheerful and definitely something I'd repurchase!

[Apologies about the severe lateness. The internet connection over here is dire. So if this is all botched up and askew, now you know why! I'll fix any gamminess as soon as I can!]

Limited Edition Deliciousness

Sunday 11 November 2012
I kid you not, this hot chocolate is delicious.

(Excuse the scummy-looking cup. It's just hot chocolate; I drank some :3)

It's warm and spicy without being overpowering, and is still the same velvety Options Hot Chocolate that we know and love! If you like ginger, you have to try this! It's so perfect for this season that I can't even.

I got mine from The Cooperative for about 35p and it's worth every single penny, so check out a Coop near you for this sachet of deliciousness!
It's limited edition as well! What are you waiting for?

Seasonal Tag 1: I ♥ Fall

Saturday 10 November 2012
Undoubtedly everyone and their grandma has seen this floating around YouTube since the beginning of October, when and where the lovely Jenny started the trend! Now despite me a) being late as hell with this, and b) as of today being officially into the swing of Christmas and Winter, I'm gonna do the I ♥ Fall tag!!

1. Favourite Fall Lipstick?
Mac Frosted Lipstick in Musky Amethyst.
I have been going on about this lipstick aaaall autumn and for good reason! It fits in with the whole oxblood theme that everyone has been going nuts for, but it's more on the purple side to add a little individuality. It's creamy and soft and smells delicious. Perfect.

2. Favourite Fall Nail Polish?
At the beginning of fall I was reaching for my Bloom Nail Polish in Millie.
I also went wild for the whole oxblood thing it seems, but nail polish is exquisite. It's a deep, dark red that I just wore to death for pretty much the whole of October.
For the last fortnight or so I've been reaching for more metallic polishes, specifically Gun Metal by Beauty UK.
It's just a pretty dark, metallic grey that I've been so drawn to. I don't even know what's so special about it, but I really like it!

3. Favourite Starbucks Fall drink?
Okay, so I got really excited about trying a Pumpkin Spice Latte this year, however every single Starbucks I went to wasn't selling it! Ugh! So instead my reach-for drink has been a luxurious Caramel Macchiato,
which I dump a load of cinnamon in to give it a more Autumn-y kind of taste, as I love cinnamon and ginger spices this time of year!

4. Favourite Fall Candle?
I can't afford Yankee Candles (sad face) so we're settling for some Airwick in Mulled Wine and Cinnamon Apple.
I kid you not, this stuff smells like Christmas and Autumn and spice and apples and happiness all rolled into one. It's honestly spectacular. It comes in an air freshener as well so you better believe I have 2 of those as well!

5. Favourite Fall Scarf or Accessory?
I have a badass extra long, knitted scarf in a beautiful burnt orange colour. I got it from Primark last winter but was scared of wearing in because of how bright it is! Now I love it! (Pics soon ;))

6. Haunted house, corn maze or hay ride?
.... They have some crazy stuff in America, huh? Neither! I would literally curl up in a ball and then have nightmares for the remainder of the year. No thanks!

7. Favourite Halloween movie?
It's not even scary, nor did it even come out at Halloween, however my favourite film to watch at this time of year is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.
I think maybe because of the iconic 'THERE'S A TROLL!! IN THE DUNGEON!!' declaration from Professor Quirrell during the Halloween feast, as well as all the magic. *shrug.

8. Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?
Toffee Apples! No doubts about it! Those things are deliiiiiicious!

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
I was The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, kind of more the Tim Burton version. (pics sooooon!)

10. What is your favourite thing about Fall?
As well as all of the above, I just love how beautiful it looks outside when all the leaves are turning orange and red, but still on the trees. Burnt, deep oranges are on of my favourite colours so I guess that's it for me!

Gee, that was fun!
If you haven't done it yet; I TAG YOU!
:D

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Freebies!

Friday 9 November 2012
I'm sure by now everyone in the makeup circle has heard of Maybelline's latest complexion makeup collection; the Fit Me range.
If anyone spends an obscene amount of time on the interwebs (i.e. me! :P) you've probably already heard/read/seen our American friends talk about this range, though it is finally purchase able in sunny ol' England at a Superdrug/Boots near you!

It comes in a million twelve different shades - even though actually I've seen videos on Youtube claiming that there are 17 shades, however I think that might only be in the USA - and the gel formula is designed to mould and shape it self to your skin tone.

The handy thing about this collection is that there is a series of concealers and pressed powders tailor made to fit the shade of foundation you are and thus your skin tone. Huzzah! Thank you Maybelline for cutting out so much leg work on our behalf! I mean, I don't know it it works or not, but I definitely appreciate the sentiment anyway! :)

As far as I'm aware (I was in Superdrug today, tehe) the foundation retails at £7.99, and there is also a concealer and a pressed powder available retailing at between £5 and £7.

And now for the fun stuff!
Again, Maybelline done good, yo! The absolute gems that they are are giving away free samples of the Fit Me foundation on their website, which you can find via this link here. A couple of the fairest shades are out of stock, as well as most of the medium shades, but go and take a look anyway!

If you're unsure of your shade, like I was, take a stroll down to Boots/Superdrug and swatch the product on your jawline - like I did - then rush home (or better still use your excellent pimped out 3G enabled smart phone and do it in the shop) and register for your free sample!

It sounds like a load of effort, but that's only because I waffle on a bit, sorry!
I've heard a load of mixed reviews about this foundation so I figured I might as well try the freebie and see what happens!

If you order one, let me know how the experience is for you!
