SHOP MY STASH #2: THE RESULT

Wednesday 11 June 2014
Well hasn't this been a long time coming! Have no fear, I haven't forgotten about this Shop My Stash series, I've just been really busy lately and haven't had time to squeeze this one in. Now I finally have the time to sit and scribe, here it is;

Just like the previous Shop My Stash: The Result, I have some products that I loved and some that I didn't like so much. Also, I didn't get to use some of the products as much as I had wanted, namely two eye shadows, but now I really know how awesome they are I won't hesitate to pick them up again.

The things I loved...
MUA Single Eye Shadows
Shades 28 (bronze), 5 (green) and 8 (blue)
Since the original Shop My Stash #2 I have depotted these eye shadows into a little DIY Palette (as you can see on my Instagram, on the left-sidebar of my blog) and I've gotten so much more use out of them than I would have done had they been left in the original packaging to clutter up my makeup baskets. The bronze one is still my favourite of the bunch and I actually had trouble putting that one down. Which is good, I suppose.

No7 Limited Edition Deco Darling Loose Powder Highlighter
This is my favourite powder highlighter. Seriously. The powder is so finely milled that there's no chunky glitters in sight and it creates a lovely sheen along my cheek bones. Fabulous. I could sing this highlighter's praises for weeks but as this was limited edition I don't want to rub salt in any one's wounds. What I will say is if you're looking for a powder highlighter, look for one that's deliciously finely milled. If you can, stick your finger in it and if it feels luxuriously soft, you're on to a winner.

This has been my go-to pink lipstick as of late. It's a bright, cool-toned pink that looks striking against my dark skin and I'm sure it would look great against a tan for any of my paler ladies who might be reading. Another thing I love about this lipstick is how great it smells. Maybe it's just me, but I swear I get a good whiff of sweet coconut. But you guys know I'm obsessed with coconut so that might just be my nose. It's definitely a sweet scent though.

The thing I didn't love...
MUA Undress Your Skin Flawless Skin Primer
I've been using this primer alternately with my Nivea Express Hydration Primer and I must say I prefer the Nivea one. I used to love silicone based primers so I was really excited to finally rip the wrapper off of this MUA one, but I'm not really keen. The texture is really thick and because of this I felt as though it just sat on my face, causes my more issues that benefits, and didn't really do anything for my oiliness. If you're looking for a primer, I don't recommend this one. Try the Nivea Express Hydration instead, which is currently 1/3 off in Superdrug!

That's it for Shop My Stash #2: The Result!
